background: Has a full ride scholarship at Julliard. Moved to New York to attend college but is originally from West Virginia. Only family member in New York is Grandma Leola who she visits often but does not enjoy getting nagged on for her lack of a love life. Her dad died when she was thirteen by drowning in tragic fishing accident in Alaska when the boat crashed. Her dad encouraged her to be a musician like he wanted to be. Her dad signed her up for dance classes when she was three, started her on piano at age five, singing lessons at seven and violin at ten. After her dad died she worked twice as hard and practiced her music every day for hours. She still has memories of horseback riding with him back on the farm in West Virginia. Her true passion is making art and she has a sketch book that she doesn’t show anyone. She does graffiti secretly with the signature Kat (Kat) on all of her work. At age fifteen she started to play the guitar but it’s her hidden talent that she doesn’t share for fears of not being good enough. In high school she was voted most likely to be famous and the over achiever. Classmates often mocked her by calling her Miss America and saying she was too perfect. She does not feel perfect though and perfection is the goal she strives to meet but thinks that she will never be good enough, pretty enough, or talented enough for anything. Her grandma always tells her “Kishi Kaisei” after she is has a bad day. This makes her smile and is a Japanese philosophy that means always coming out on top in a desperate or bad situation. She makes frequent calls home to get advice from her mom or talk to her brother who is also her best friend.
